Year Nashville Beer Mile Smiley

Course Description

We'll run a 1/4 mile loop in the yard and follow the standard beer mile rules. The course is about 75% grass and 25% concrete (driveway). There's a small incline at the start of each lap, but overall it's fairly flat. If you have trail shoes, wear them.

On the RunningAhead map, zoom all the way in and change the map to Satellite or Hybrid mode to see more details. The big hump in the middle of the course is where the pool is now, but Google's satellite image is too old to show it. RunningAhead's elevation profile also seems a bit exaggerated; I'd say there's no more than a 10 foot rise overall.

The course has a few turns, but instead of thinking of this as a slow track, think of it as the easiest trail you'll ever run. And it has a downhill finish.  On race day, there will be direction signs, cones, arrows, and volunteers along the course.

Here's a cheezy overhead snapshot of the course, marked up to show the parking area and the pool.

Aid Stations

There's an aid station available every quarter mile, and you get to (actually, have to) drink a beer each time you pass it!
